Montini Catholic High School student Gavin Conway of Lombard has been awarded the school’s 2026 Robert Huntoon Memorial Scholarship in recognition of his excellence in mathematics.

Conway, who will enter his senior year this fall, received the honor earlier this spring during Montini Catholic’s Math Awards. The annual scholarship recognizes a student entering senior year who demonstrates outstanding achievement, curiosity and dedication in mathematics.

The scholarship honors former Montini Catholic Math Department Chair Robert Huntoon, whose contributions helped shape the school’s mathematics program. Huntoon founded the Bronco Math Team and developed the idea for Montini’s annual Math Contest, encouraging generations of students to embrace problem-solving, academic competition and mathematical excellence.

Each year, the scholarship is presented to a student who reflects Huntoon’s passion for mathematics and commitment to academic achievement.
