Community book collection and children's book giveaway in Villa Park, Illinois

Featuring the memorial book drive supporting young readers

On May 14, the Hildreth family—Nancy, Rick, and their son Nick, head football coach at Willowbrook High School—delivered over 2,000 books to School District 45 in Villa Park.

This generous donation was part of the "Reading for Raymond" memorial book drive, honoring their late son, Raymond.

Books were collected during a Willowbrook football game and at Raymond's Celebration of Life.

According to recent reports, Raymond began his educational journey in the district's Special Education Early Childhood Program, where his love for reading took root.

In gratitude for the program's impact, the Hildreths chose to support the same district that nurtured Raymond's passion for books.

In related community efforts, the Villa Park Public Library offers Little Free Libraries throughout the area, providing 24/7 access to books for readers of all ages.

These initiatives underscore Villa Park's commitment to fostering literacy and honoring cherished community members.
