District 44 Closes Connect 44 Center to New Rental Bookings |
The Lombard facility is currently full, and the district has not announced when community bookings may reopen |

Lombard Elementary School District 44 has stopped accepting new community rental and contract bookings at the Connect 44 Center because the facility’s available capacity is currently full.
The update applies to new rental requests, not to the daily operation of the building.
The center remains an active educational and community space attached to Glenn Westlake Middle School at 1514 S. Main Street in Lombard.
During the school day, students use the facility for hands-on learning, athletics and other district programming.
Its features include STEAM learning labs with indoor and outdoor space, a field house configured for basketball and volleyball, and an indoor turf room.
The building was also designed to serve community groups, sports leagues and tournaments during evenings and weekends.
That shared-use model has now reached its current booking limit.
District 44 has not announced a date for reopening rentals or identified a waiting-list process for organizations that still hope to reserve space.
Instead, officials say the facility page will be updated if availability changes.
Groups planning winter practices, spring programs or special events should avoid assuming that open dates will become available without a formal district update.
The booking pause matters locally because large, flexible indoor spaces are limited, especially for youth sports and community programs during colder months.
Current renters and contract users should rely on their existing agreements and direct district communication for details about their reservations.
For everyone else, the clearest next step is to monitor District 44’s Connect 44 information page for any reopening announcement. |
