DuPage County School District 45 will hold two more referendum town halls in October before the proposal appears on the November 3, 2026 ballot.

The district says the sessions are intended to explain the ballot question, review financial information and give residents an opportunity to ask questions.

Tuesday, October 13, 6:30–8:30 p.m. — Schafer Elementary School, 700 E. Pleasant Lane, Lombard.

Wednesday, October 28, 6:30–8:30 p.m. — Stevenson Elementary School, 18W331 E. 15th Street, Lombard.

District 45 lists both October sessions as being presented in English and Spanish.

The referendum asks voters whether the district’s limiting property-tax rate should increase by 0.2670 percentage points above the levy-year 2025 limiting rate.

According to the district, the proposed increase would generate approximately $4.4 million in additional annual revenue for instructional programming, student support and services, operations and maintenance, and safety and security improvements.

The district estimates that a home with a market value of $350,000 would see an additional property-tax cost of about $299 per year, or roughly $25 per month, if the referendum is approved.

The actual impact can vary by property because tax bills depend on assessed value and other factors.

The referendum will appear on the November 3, 2026 general election ballot.

Residents who want more information can review the ballot language, tax-impact estimates, frequently asked questions and town hall schedule on District 45’s referendum information pages.
