Glenbard East, Glenbard West, Glenbard South, Willowbrook and Montini are deep into the fall season, with football, soccer, volleyball, cross country, flag football and other postseason races all moving at once.

GLENBARD EAST RAMS

Football delivered one of the week’s biggest wins as Glenbard East edged South Elgin 27–24 on October 16.

The Rams’ girls volleyball team recently picked up conference wins over Ridgewood, 2–1, and Elmwood Park, 2–0, before moving into the final stretch of its schedule.

Boys soccer has also stayed competitive, carrying a 7-5-4 record in the latest posted standings after a 2–0 loss to West Chicago on October 10.

GLENBARD WEST HILLTOPPERS

Glenbard West football closed its regular-season conference slate in dominant fashion with a 56–6 win over Proviso West on October 16.

Girls volleyball has been one of West’s strongest fall programs, entering its mid-October tournament stretch with a 23–3 record and continuing play against quality opponents.

Boys soccer has also put together a strong season, including a 1–0 win at Downers Grove North and a 3–1 loss to Naperville North earlier this month as the Hilltoppers move toward postseason play.

GLENBARD SOUTH RAIDERS

Glenbard South football battled Riverside-Brookfield in a defensive game on October 16 but fell 12–7.

Girls volleyball remains a major bright spot for the Raiders. A 2–0 loss to Riverside-Brookfield on October 13 was the team’s first conference loss, dropping South to 21–11 overall and 5–1 in conference at that point.

Boys soccer added a 2–0 win over Larkin on October 12, while the girls swimming co-op with Glenbard West continues through the closing portion of its fall schedule.

Cross country is also shifting into postseason mode, with Glenbard South assigned to the Class 2A Kaneland Regional on October 24.

WILLOWBROOK WARRIORS

Willowbrook football finished the regular season at 5–4 after a 37–20 loss to Addison Trail in the District 88 Crosstown Classic on October 15.

Dylan Borkowski had a standout night despite the loss, totaling 187 receiving yards, two receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown.

The Warriors’ girls volleyball team had a busy Elk Grove Invitational, earning wins over Elk Grove, Streamwood and West Chicago while also facing Glenbard North and Resurrection.

Boys soccer recently earned a 3–2 win over Leyden and a 3–3 draw with Glenbard East, while girls flag football advanced through regional play with a 25–20 win over Lake Park.

MONTINI BRONCOS

Montini football stayed hot with a 28–24 victory over St. Francis on October 16, extending a strong run that also included lopsided wins over De La Salle and Marmion.

Girls volleyball has faced a demanding schedule, including a 2–0 win over Hinsdale South and recent matches against St. Francis and Benet Academy.

Boys soccer played Crossroads Christian to a 1–1 tie on October 13 after several tightly contested matches earlier in the month.

Montini boys cross country has produced one of the strongest running results among our five schools this fall, winning the Niles West Pat Savage Invitational earlier in October.

Montini and Glenbard South will both compete in the Class 2A Kaneland Regional on October 24 as the cross-country postseason gets underway.

With football playoffs, soccer postseason matches, volleyball tournament play and cross-country regionals all arriving together, the next week will be one of the busiest of the fall season for our five-school area.
