Gator Adoption Glen Ellyn at Glen Ellyn, IL

Glen Ellyn's beloved Gator Race is set to make a splash on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Sunset Pool.

 

This annual event, organized by the Glen Ellyn Parks Foundation, invites residents to "adopt" rubber gators, with proceeds supporting local park initiatives. Adopt Here

 

Participants can choose from several adoption options: one gator for $10, a Chomp Pack of four for $25, or a Swamp Full of 20 for $100.

 

Each adopted gator is assigned a number and will race down the pool's slide, offering adopters a chance to win prizes, including a 2027 Sunset Pool membership.

 

Following the race, the inaugural Gator Mania event will commence, featuring swimming, games, and music for all ages.

 

For those interested in enhancing their swimming skills, the Glen Ellyn Park District is offering Youth Learn to Swim classes at Sunset Pool from June 8 to June 18, 2026.

 

These sessions cater to children aged 6-15 and cover essential swimming techniques and water safety.

 

Additionally, the Glen Ellyn Public Library is hosting a Monthly Make: Embroidered Bookmark workshop from June 10 to June 30, 2026, providing a creative outlet for community members.
