Glen Ellyn's Civic Betterment Committee has selected eight candidates for the April 2027 local election following its October 24 town meeting.

A total of 551 residents participated through in-person, early and drive-through voting.

For Village Board Trustee, the selected candidates are Kelli Christiansen, Bob Duncan, DJ Simon and Christy Truitt.

Christiansen received 332 votes, Duncan 295, Simon 291 and Truitt 285, with Truitt selected for a two-year term.

The four Library Trustee selections are Emily Henkels, Laine Pehta, Karen Shea and Andrew Savikas.

Their respective vote totals were 375, 359, 343 and 267.

The volunteer, nonpartisan committee helps residents run for village and library offices by assisting with candidate petitions and low-cost campaigns.

These selections are not the final election results; voters will make their choices during the consolidated election in spring 2027.

The town meeting reflects a longstanding Glen Ellyn tradition of community participation in local leadership.

Residents can follow the election calendar and learn about all candidates as the ballot takes shape.
