Lombard residents can get a closer look at changes inside Glenbard East High School during a community facility tour on Tuesday, October 6, at 5 p.m.

The visit offers an opportunity to explore recent upgrades, see construction progress and learn about improvements still ahead.

For community members who have followed the work from outside the building, the tour provides a firsthand look at how the school is changing.

Renovation plans include improvements to classrooms and science labs, updated fine arts spaces and a learning commons designed to accommodate different student learning experiences.

Other work includes a more secure entrance vestibule connected to a relocated main office, replacement exterior windows and relocated student support services to make resources easier to reach.

Cafeteria improvements are intended to ease congestion while creating more flexible space.

Project photos from August show the renovated visitor entrance, renovated cafeteria and exterior windows.

The tour brings these building updates into focus through the spaces students use each day, while giving residents a chance to learn about ongoing work and upcoming projects.
