Applications Open for Lombard Citizen’s Police Academy |

The Lombard Police Department is accepting applications for its 36th Annual Citizen’s Police Academy, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8.
The free, 10-week program gives residents and people who work in Lombard an inside look at local police operations, procedures, equipment and community service. Participants will take part in classroom discussions and hands-on activities covering investigations, forensics, traffic stops, firearm training, specialty teams, critical incidents and other aspects of police work. Classes will be held Tuesdays from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Lombard Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Ave., and other nearby locations. The program runs through Nov. 10, with graduation scheduled for Nov. 17. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and live or work in Lombard. Enrollment is limited to 20 participants, and applications are due Monday, Aug. 24. Applications are available at villageoflombard.org/cpa or may be picked up at Lombard Village Hall or the Lombard Police Department, 235 E.
