Lake Foxcroft Park Reopens After Major Glen Ellyn Renovation |
The neighborhood park now features a new playground, loop path, shelter, fishing access and adult fitness stations |

Lake Foxcroft Park is welcoming visitors again after a major renovation designed to make the Glen Ellyn neighborhood park more useful in every season.
The work represents the first comprehensive round of improvements at the site since the 1970s.
Located at 2S540 Lambert Road, the roughly 10-acre park surrounds a three-acre lake and now offers a wider mix of recreation, gathering and nature-focused amenities.
A new playground gives younger visitors an updated place to climb, slide and explore.
The project also added an open-air shelter and a waterless restroom, making longer family visits and small group outings more convenient.
Visitors who come to walk or fish will notice improved pathways and additional fishing stations around the lake.
New adult fitness stations create another option for neighbors who want to pair a loop around the park with a simple outdoor workout.
The redesigned layout gives children, adults and anglers more reasons to share the same public space.
Asphalt paving on the loop was completed during the final construction phase, while the playground required an independent inspection before opening for use.
Some landscaping, final grading and finishing work may continue even as the park remains accessible.
The reopening is a meaningful neighborhood milestone because the site had gone decades without a renovation of this scale.
For nearby residents, the improvements turn a familiar green space into a more complete destination for play, exercise, fishing and casual community gatherings.
Lake Foxcroft Park is open from dawn until dusk, giving families a chance to experience the new features before winter weather settles in. |
