The Lombard Fire Department and Lombard Firefighters Union Local 3009 have reached a new fundraising milestone in their ongoing support of local cancer patients.

On Tuesday, October 20, firefighters presented a record $7,500 donation to the Bhorade Cancer Care Center at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital.

The gift is the largest single-year contribution in the 13-year history of the department’s annual Pink T-Shirt Fundraiser.

With this year's contribution, the initiative has now raised a remarkable $48,362 for the cancer center.

The annual fundraiser helps raise awareness of breast cancer while providing meaningful support to patients and families receiving care close to home.

Each pink T-shirt purchased and each individual donation contributed to this year's success, showing how a simple community fundraiser can grow into a lasting local tradition.

Beyond the dollar amount, the fundraiser is a reminder of the care and compassion that connect Lombard neighbors.

Thank you to the firefighters, Union Local 3009, and everyone who bought a shirt or made a donation.

Their generosity continues to make a difference for local patients and their loved ones.
