Lombard is glowing with Halloween spirit as 26 homes across the community compete in the Lombard Park District’s Halloween House Decorating Contest.

Families can make an evening of it by grabbing some hot cocoa, piling into the car and taking a self-guided tour of the participating homes before casting a vote for their favorite display.

From glowing pumpkins and spooky skeletons to creative lighting, ghosts and elaborate yard scenes, each stop brings a different take on Halloween fun.

After touring the displays, residents can vote for their favorite home through the official contest ballot.

The Lombard Park District also provides an official decorating-contest map to help families plan their route through town.

The contest is a fun way to celebrate Halloween while showing some love to the neighbors who put time, imagination and plenty of lights into their displays.

Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the decorations from public sidewalks and streets and to be respectful of participating homeowners and their property.
