Lombard Historical Society’s Food Truck Social Returns September 5

Food, live music, family entertainment and local history will come together when the Lombard Historical Society hosts its 5th Annual Food Truck Social on Maple Street on Saturday, September 5.

 

The America 250-themed celebration will run from 4–9 p.m. at the Lombard Historical Society, 23 W. Maple Street in Lombard.

Presented in partnership with Brew Avenue Events, the Food Truck Social is the Historical Society’s largest annual fundraiser. Proceeds support its work preserving and sharing Lombard’s history through exhibits, educational programs and community events.

 

Food Trucks on Maple Street

Seven food trucks have been announced, with an eighth vendor expected to be added:

  • The Happy Lobster — Lobster and seafood specialties
  • Polish Shack — Traditional Polish-inspired favorites
  • La Humita — Ecuadorian cuisine
  • Nexx Flava — Italian ice and frozen treats
  • Kiss by Fire — Pizza and barbecue
  • Hippy Gourmet — Gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches
  • MxCocina — Mexican cuisine
  • Additional food truck to be announced

 

Family Entertainment

Families can meet Bluey during the special Red, White & Bluey Meet and Greet from 4–6 p.m.

Additional activities will include Hoops Chicago’s arcade-style basketball games, big bubbles, balloon animals, face painting and family-friendly entertainment. Jay Jay the Clown will perform from 5–7 p.m.

 

Live Music Schedule

Tautologic will perform its eclectic progressive-rock music from 4:30–6 p.m.

 

The Southside Blues Brothers Tribute Band, featuring Jerry Armstrong and his band, will close the evening with a high-energy performance from 7:15–9 p.m.

 

50/50 Raffle Supports Local History

The Historical Society’s annual 50/50 Split the Pot Raffle will also return. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20 and may be purchased online, at Historical Society events or from members of the Society’s Board of Management.

 

Last year’s winner received more than $3,000. The 2026 winner does not need to be present and will be contacted following the drawing.

 

Explore Lombard’s History

During the event, visitors can tour the first floor of the Victorian Cottage and explore the Carriage House, Lilac Emporium Gift Shop and the Society’s Power of Place exhibit. The historic attractions will remain open throughout the event from 4–9 p.m.
