Two Lombard residents whose service reaches across the community have been named the Village’s 2026 Seniors of the Year.

Jackie Stawiarski received the Senior Woman of the Year honor, and Lynn Moist was named Senior Man of the Year during the Thursday, October 1 Village Board meeting.

The annual awards recognize Lombard residents age 65 and older who make a difference through volunteerism and service.

Stawiarski’s contributions include work with the Lombard Junior Women’s Club, TLC Camp, St. Pius X, Knights of Columbus, Lions Club and Ray Graham Association.

Her efforts have included making blankets, collecting donations, sharing garden produce with local food pantries and preparing food for people experiencing homelessness.

Moist regularly volunteers at The Outreach House, helping unload and organize food and clothing donations, assisting donors and maintaining receiving and storage areas.

He has also donated blood and platelets for more than 50 years, making more than 250 lifetime donations to help patients in need.

The Village’s October 2 announcement praised both honorees for the impact of their steady commitment to helping others.

Congratulations to Jackie and Lynn on this recognition of their service to Lombard.
