Lombard Historical Society will host author Jamie Gehring for a virtual program on Thursday, October 8, from 7 to 8 p.m.

Gehring’s 2022 memoir, Madman in the Woods: Life Next Door to the Unabomber, recounts her childhood beside Ted Kaczynski in Lincoln, Montana.

The talk will also explore a Lombard connection: Kaczynski briefly lived at his parents’ home in the village in 1978, according to the historical society.

Readers and residents interested in local history can hear the author discuss her experiences during this online event.

Advance registration is required, and the Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants the day before the program.

Registration is free, with an optional donation available on the registration page.
