Halloween may be over, but there’s still one more way to put those pumpkins to good use!

The Lombard Park District invites residents to its free Pumpkin Smash on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at Lombard Common, 433 E. St. Charles Road, in the east parking lot.

Instead of sending leftover jack-o’-lanterns to a landfill, bring your pumpkins to the event for composting. It’s an easy way to reduce waste and give those festive fall decorations a more environmentally friendly ending.

Before you go: Only pumpkins are accepted. Please remove candles, glitter, decorations and excess paint before dropping them off.

Event details: Saturday, November 7, 2026; 9 a.m.–noon; Lombard Common east parking lot, 433 E. St. Charles Road, Lombard. Admission is free.

Save your pumpkins after Halloween and make plans for one final fall outing while helping keep organic waste out of the trash.
