Major exterior improvements are underway at Lombard Pines Shopping Center at Main Street and Roosevelt Road in Lombard.
Property owner Fort Union has begun remodeling the center’s east-facing façade, including plans to remove the existing tile roofing, install new standing-seam metal roofing, update the exterior façade and add new anchor-signage towers.
Fort Union acquired the approximately 240,000-square-foot shopping center in 2023. Since then, the company has worked to reposition the property by leasing former vacant space and extending existing tenant leases. The company reports 57,000 square feet of formerly vacant space has been leased, along with 67,000 square feet in lease extensions.
The renovation is connected to a broader effort involving approximately 92,000 square feet of vacant space at the center, according to Village of Lombard Community Development information.
Construction is now visible across the center, where sections of the existing exterior have been removed and new materials are being installed. Lombard Pines is home to businesses including Enchanted Castle and Jewel-Osco.
