The Lombard Garden Club will welcome Dan Hebreard, president of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, for a special presentation on Friday, Aug. 28 at 12:30 p.m. at the Lombard Community Building, 433 E. St. Charles Road.

Hebreard, who has worked with the Forest Preserve District for more than 20 years, will share an overview of the district, its 26,000 acres of natural areas, and the many recreational and environmental benefits it provides throughout DuPage County. He will also discuss the district’s sustainability efforts, including alternative fuels and other green initiatives.

The program is free and open to the public.

The Lombard Garden Club is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026. Founded in 1926, the club continues to promote gardening, education and community beautification while offering opportunities for local gardeners to learn and connect.
