Fans of Poppie's Pasta will have to wait a little longer for the restaurant's arrival in downtown Glen Ellyn.

The business announced on October 26 that unexpected last-minute permit requirements had delayed the planned opening of its second location at 552 Crescent Boulevard.

The restaurant said it is working through the village's requirements before welcoming customers, but a revised opening date has not been announced.

That means anyone hoping to dine at the new storefront should check for an official update before making plans.

The expansion brings an established name from neighboring Villa Park, where Poppie's Pasta operates at 332 E. St. Charles Road.

The restaurant is known for pasta prepared in-house, sauces made from scratch, and a menu that includes ravioli, gnocchi, subs, focaccia and desserts.

A delay is disappointing for eager diners, but the opening remains something to look forward to as the downtown dining scene continues to grow.
