Revolutionary War Uniforms Take Center Stage in Glen Ellyn - Sat. Nov 7 |
Living history program explores Continental Army clothing and Hamilton’s artillery |

History comes to life in Glen Ellyn this November with a closer look at what Revolutionary War soldiers wore, carried and experienced in daily service.
The Glen Ellyn Historical Society will welcome living history presenter Jack Tison on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 2 p.m. for a program exploring uniforms and military life during the American Revolution.
Tison belongs to the Alexander Hamilton Artillery reenactment group, which interprets the provincial artillery company associated with Hamilton during the war.
His presentation focuses on authentic clothing and equipment, explaining why a soldier’s uniform was more than a recognizable appearance.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn how garments, gear and daily routines shaped the experience of those serving in the Continental Army.
Through a living history perspective, the program brings details from the eighteenth century into sharper focus for modern audiences.
Whether you enjoy American history, historical clothing or military reenactments, the presentation offers a closer look at the people behind familiar Revolutionary War stories.
The program takes place at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main Street, Glen Ellyn.
Admission is $10 for the general public, while Glen Ellyn Historical Society members and students may attend free.
For additional details, contact the Glen Ellyn Historical Society at 630-469-1867.
This local event provides an opportunity to explore a chapter of America’s past in the company of a knowledgeable historical reenactor. |
