1925: VPFD established by the Lions Club. 1927: Village took over the 27 volunteer member department. 1954: VPFD moves to new fire station at 28 W Home Ave. 1967: Northside Station 82 built on Plymouth Ave. 1973: First three full-time firefighters hired. 1975: Southside Station 81 built on south Ardmore Ave. 1976: Paramedic program created.
