The Villa Park Fire Department has a special reason to celebrate as Firefighter/Paramedic Skyler Everson officially completed his probationary period and was sworn in as a permanent member of the department.

Born in Florida and raised in the Midwest, Everson graduated from the University of Missouri and gained valuable emergency medical experience working as an emergency room technician before pursuing a career in fire service.

Since joining the department, Everson has become known for his friendly personality, sense of humor, and readiness to lend a helping hand.

He has also become a familiar face to local residents through the department’s entertaining and informative social media videos.

His firefighter swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, October 29, marked an important professional milestone and renewed his commitment to protecting and serving the residents of Villa Park.

Department members highlighted a quality they especially value in Everson: his genuine desire to be part of the team and serve the community.

The ceremony also celebrated the meaning behind the firefighter’s badge, representing courage, honor, dedication, and responsibility.

As a permanent firefighter/paramedic, Everson will continue the important work of helping neighbors through emergencies and contributing to the life of the community he serves.

The Lombard Lilac Ledger congratulates Skyler Everson on this achievement and wishes him a long, safe, and rewarding career with the Villa Park Fire Department.
