Two members of the Villa Park Police Department command staff are celebrating an important milestone in professional education.

Deputy Chiefs James Svara and Jose Pagan have successfully completed Northwestern University’s Executive Management Program.

The program is the final component of Northwestern University’s Executive Police Education Program, providing advanced professional development for law enforcement leaders.

Chief Kubish and Sergeant Hruby attended the graduation ceremony to recognize the two deputy chiefs and their accomplishment.

The occasion highlighted the time and commitment that continued education demands from individuals already serving in senior leadership positions.

Through the program, leaders have the opportunity to strengthen management skills and expand the knowledge they bring back to their departments.

For Villa Park, this graduation also represents a milestone for the police department as a whole.

According to the department, Chief Kubish, Deputy Chief Svara and Deputy Chief Pagan are the only three Villa Park police personnel to date who have completed this program.

The department described the accomplishment as part of its ongoing commitment to leadership, professionalism and excellence in law enforcement.

Additional supervisors may have the opportunity to attend the educational program in the future as the department continues investing in professional development.

That approach is intended to help prepare more leaders for the responsibilities and challenges that come with serving the community.

Beyond the graduation ceremony, the achievement recognizes the dedication of officers who pursue new skills while continuing their public service careers.

Residents benefit when local public safety organizations make ongoing learning and leadership development a priority.

The Villa Park Police Department looks forward to building on this progress by encouraging further educational opportunities among supervisors.

Congratulations to Deputy Chiefs Svara and Pagan on this accomplishment and their continuing service to the Villa Park community.
