Villa Park Sidewalk Replacement Work Begins Week of October 12
Here’s what residents should know about driveway access, overnight parking and the program waiting list.

Villa Park residents may begin seeing sidewalk construction crews in their neighborhoods as the Village's 2026 Sidewalk Replacement Program gets underway the week of October 12.

The Village Board approved the construction contract in August, and work is expected to begin this week, weather and other circumstances permitting.

Village staff members are marking sidewalk sections scheduled for replacement and delivering notices to residents whose properties will be affected.

What residents should know about driveway access

Some residents may temporarily lose access to their driveways while sidewalk work is completed.

If construction blocks your driveway, the Village says you may park on the street overnight during the work without notifying the Villa Park Police Department.

This temporary overnight-parking allowance is specifically for residents who lose driveway access because of the construction.

What if your sidewalk is on the waiting list?

Because the 2026 program has a limited budget, not every requested location can necessarily be completed this year.

Properties on the waiting list that do not fit within the current budget will automatically be deferred to an upcoming program.

New locations are added to the waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis.
