Villa Park families can look forward to a full afternoon and evening of Halloween fun, with official trick-or-treat hours set for Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The Villa Park Village Board approved the schedule on August 24 under Resolution No. 26054, giving neighbors a five-hour window to welcome costumed visitors.

DATE: Saturday, October 31, 2026

TIME: 3:00–8:00 p.m.

LOCATION: Residential neighborhoods throughout Villa Park

Safety tips for trick-or-treaters

Children should travel with an adult or a group, stay on sidewalks and cross streets at corners or marked crosswalks.

Flashlights, glow sticks and reflective costume details make it easier for drivers to see trick-or-treaters after sunset.

Costumes and shoes should fit comfortably, and masks should never block a child's view.

Visit only homes with their porch lights on, never enter a stranger's house or vehicle, and wait until home to sample treats.

Reminders for parents and guardians

Parents are encouraged to accompany younger children, agree on a route and return time, and make sure older children stay with friends and have a charged phone.

Adults should examine candy before children eat it and check ingredients for potential allergens.

Drivers and homeowners can help, too

Motorists should slow down in neighborhoods, watch carefully between parked cars and take extra care around driveways.

Turning on headlights early can improve visibility as daylight fades.

Residents welcoming trick-or-treaters can switch on their porch lights and keep pathways well lit and free of decorations, hoses and other tripping hazards.

Pets should be secured away from the front door to protect both animals and visitors.

With a little planning and extra attention from everyone, Villa Park can enjoy a fun, festive and safe Halloween.
