A Celebration in Bloom: Call for Artists for "Power of Place"

Lombard is approaching a historic milestone, and we want your creativity to be part of its legacy.

In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary in 2026, the Lombard Historical Society (LHS), the Village of Lombard, and the Lombard Park District are joining forces to present Power of Place. This juried outdoor art installation will transform Lilacia Park and the LHS grounds into an open-air gallery from June through September 2026.

What makes a place significant? How do our local landscapes and shared history weave into the larger American tapestry? Power of Place invites artists to explore these questions through original works that reflect Lombard’s unique identity, its people, and its heritage.

We are looking for durable, outdoor-ready artwork—think metal, ceramics, glass, or weather-resistant mixed media.

  • Who can apply: Local students, community organizations, and adult artists.

  • The Incentive: Up to 10 selected adult artist submissions will be awarded a $250 stipend.
