Good news! Lombard's drinking water continues to meet all federal and state water quality standards. The Village has released its 2025 Annual Water Quality Report, providing residents with information about local drinking water quality, testing results and how we work to ensure safe, reliable water for our community throughout the year.

Storm Cleanup Update
Public Works crews will be picking up storm-damaged tree limbs from parkways throughout the Village this week following this weekend's storms.
To help crews work as efficiently as possible, please place larger limbs in the parkway with the cut end facing the street as soon as possible.
For smaller branches and sticks (less than 4 feet long), please bundle them for your regular weekly yard waste collection.

Firework Reschedule for Glen Ellyn to be determined

Once the Glen Ellyn Independence Day Foundation determines a date for the rescheduled fireworks, we will share it with the community.
Please keep in mind that selecting a new date involves coordinating the fireworks vendor, the Park District's availability at Lake Ellyn, public safety resources, and other scheduling considerations. We appreciate everyone's patience as those details are finalized.

Helen Plum Library Reopens July 7th after recent flooding

The Helen Plum Library will be reopening on Tue, Jul 7 at 9 am.

What happened?

Overnight between Fri, Jul 3 and Sat, Jul 4, Lombard received roughly five inches of rainfall over a very short time. The streets and area around our building were flooded, and the south end of our building flooded on the 1st Floor and in the basement.

When will you open?

Our building will reopen on Tue, Jul 7 at 9 am

How are Library services impacted?

We are working to remove moisture, address water damage, and prevent mold. There is a large, plastic curtain surrounding the impacted area.

  • Luckily, our collection is safe! Some Youth Fiction and Nonfiction shelves will be unavailable for browsing while work on the affected areas is completed. Placing holds for those books is the best way to access them. Our floor plan map shows which areas of the Youth Services collection are unavailable for browsing.
  • 1st Floor family restrooms, the Quiet Spot, and the Youth Services Program Room are unavailable.
  • Some Youth Services programs may be affected. Visit our website calendar for updates on Library events, including cancellations, relocations, and other adjustments during repairs.

For further info on impacted areas and services, visit: helenplum.org/closure-updates.

Glen Ellyn Dedicated New Mural

Glen Ellyn celebrated the dedication of America 250: Glen Ellyn Heritage, a new public art mural at the Glen Ellyn History Center.

Created by local artist Jason Watts, the mural commemorates America's 250th anniversary while highlighting the people, places, and moments that have shaped our community. The design was selected through a public engagement process, making it a true reflection of Glen Ellyn's story.
