The Lombard Fire Department has earned high honors as the 2nd Runner-Up for the distinguished Hartmann Award from the Good Samaritan EMS System, reinforcing its reputation for exemplary emergency medical care.

Chosen out of nearly 25,000 annual EMS calls, this award recognizes teams for extraordinary response during critical incidents. The department’s most recent recognition came after firefighters skillfully saved a 34-year-old woman in severe respiratory distress, restoring her stability after she lost consciousness from a life-threatening asthma attack.

Notably, this marks the second straight year Lombard has received a Hartmann Award. In 2025, they were named First Runner-Up for rescuing a teenager suffering a similar emergency, demonstrating consistent clinical expertise.

Beyond emergency care, the department supports the community through breast cancer fundraisers and their annual Toy Parade, reflecting strong local ties and ongoing dedication to service.

The Village celebrates the fire department’s unwavering commitment, honoring their impactful difference when it matters most.
