On July 27th, the area was hit with severe storms. Glen Ellyn did have a recorded EF0 Tornado hit.
Following the July 27 storm, Village crews, ComEd, public safety personnel and contractors worked throughout Glen Ellyn to clear debris, reopen streets and restore electrical service. Residents should visit the Village of Glen Ellyn and ComEd websites for the latest cleanup and outage information. Read More... |
Lombard crews continue working throughout the village following last week's severe storms as debris removal and cleanup efforts continue.
Lombard Public Works crews have been working and continue working throughout the community to clear storm debris from parkway trees and other public areas following yesterday's severe storms. As cleanup efforts continue, the Village will collect storm-damaged tree debris from parkway trees throughout the Village. The Village will also collect debris from private trees located north of Roosevelt Road, in accordance with Village Board policy.
If tree limbs are in contact with power lines, stay away and report the issue to ComEd. A ComEd contractor will remove limbs from power lines in coordination with ComEd after the lines have been de-energized.
Private tree debris placed at the parkway after Sunday, Aug. 2 will not be collected as part of this storm cleanup.
This collection effort is expected to continue throughout the next several days and into next week. We appreciate residents' patience as crews work to restore conditions throughout the community.
Damage to parkway trees, fallen limbs, and other non-emergency issues on Village property can be reported through the SeeClickFix app or online at www.villageoflombard.org/seeclickfix
For any additional questions, please contact the Public Works Department at (630) 620-5740.

Wait before You Buy School Supplies- There are Tax Savings $$$ |

Planning your back-to-school shopping? The timing could make a difference. Illinois’ back-to-school sales-tax reduction runs from August 7 through August 16, lowering the state portion of sales tax on eligible school supplies, clothing and footwear. What shoppers should know: βοΈ Qualifying school supplies are not subject to the $125 price cap This is a temporary reduction in the state sales-tax rate, not a completely tax-free shopping event. Still, families purchasing supplies, clothes or shoes for the new school year may save by shopping during the designated dates. Pass this along to a parent, grandparent or caregiver preparing for the school year. |
