Storm Update (July 7, 2026)

Lombard Public Works crews have been working throughout the community to clear storm debris from parkway trees and public areas following the storms that impacted Lombard over the holiday weekend. Crews will continue these cleanup efforts until all affected areas have been addressed.

To assist residents with storm cleanup, the Village will provide up to 10 free Waste Management storm debris stickers per impacted property. The stickers may be used for the disposal of flood-damaged household items and private property tree debris in accordance with Waste Management collection guidelines.

Brush Collection Requirements:

  • Bundled brush will be collected from residential properties provided that one sticker is attached to each bundle.
  • Bundles must be securely tied with non-plastic twine or string, weigh no more than 50 pounds, and be no more than 6 feet long and 18 inches in diameter. Individual branches may not exceed 6 inches in diameter
  • Brush that exceeds these requirements will not be collected and should be removed through a private landscaping or tree service contractor.

Stickers will be available at the Lombard Public Works Department, located at 1051 S. Hammerschmidt Ave., through Monday, July 20. The Public Works office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For questions, please contact Lombard Public Works at (630) 620-5740 or email publicworks@villageoflombard.org.

In addition, residents who experienced flooding or sewer backup issues are encouraged to learn about the following grant program opportunities:

  • The Residential Drainage Program provides technical assistance and grant opportunities to help eligible homeowners address persistent drainage issues.
  • The Overhead Sewer Reimbursement Program assists eligible homeowners who experience chronic sewer backups.

To learn more about these programs and eligibility requirements, visit www.villageoflombard.org/299/Grants.

The Village appreciates the community's patience and cooperation as our crews continue cleanup efforts across Lombard.

America250 Benefit Raises Over $30,000 for York Township Food Pantry

Nearly 2,000 community members gathered at Knolls Park in Lombard on June 28 for the York Township America250 Benefit, raising more than $30,000 to support the York Township Food Pantry through the Friends of York Township.

The family-friendly celebration featured live music, food trucks, local vendors, a Touch-a-Truck, children's activities, and community partnerships, all while celebrating America's upcoming 250th anniversary.

One of the day's highlights was the community dunk tank, where local elected officials helped raise more than $2,200 for the food pantry. The event opened with the Villa Park VFW Post 2801 Honor Guard and concluded with a performance by 7th Heaven.

Proceeds from the event will help the York Township Food Pantry continue serving hundreds of local families each month with food and essential household items.

York Township thanked the many volunteers, sponsors, community partners, entertainers, and residents whose support made the event a tremendous success and demonstrated the community's commitment to helping neighbors in need.

Meet Zoe - a 5-year-old, 120-pound Great Dane who's basically a couch with legs and a whole lot of love to give.
Zoe's a slow-and-steady kind of girl. New people, new places, new smells - she likes to take it all in at her own pace before she decides you're worth a snuggle. And once she does? You've got a loyal, gentle giant for life.
She's polite with other dogs, especially the mellow, easygoing types - Zoe's not about the chaos, she's about the calm. Think quiet evenings, slow walks, and a dog who'd rather lean into your leg than bounce off the walls.
Zoe isn't asking for much: patience, a little space to warm up, and a soft place to finally land. If you're the type who lets a gal come around in her own time, she just might be your perfect match.
